Course Overview

This advanced course introduces apprentices to industrial applications, motor controls, and renewable technologies. Students will interpret NEC Chapter 4 and apply it to motors, hazardous locations, and photovoltaic (solar) systems.

  • Understand and apply NEC rules for motors and control equipment
  • Wire and troubleshoot basic motor starters
  • Describe classifications of hazardous locations and required protections
  • Interpret solar system designs and installation requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of energy storage safety and integration
