Course Overview

This foundational course introduces apprentices to core electrical concepts, safety principles, and tools of the trade. Emphasis is placed on understanding the physics of electricity, reading basic blueprints, and using multimeters. Apprentices will begin navigating the National Electrical Code (NEC) and develop essential habits for safe work practices.

  1. Explain electrical terms, units, and theory
  2. Use multimeters to measure voltage, resistance, and current
  3. Identify components of residential electrical systems
  4. Demonstrate proper use of PPE and hand tools
  5. Locate articles in the NEC using index and Table of Contents
