Course Overview

This advanced course introduces apprentices to industrial applications, motor controls, and renewable technologies. Students will interpret NEC Chapter 4 and apply it to motors, hazardous locations, and photovoltaic (solar) systems.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand and apply NEC rules for motors and control equipment
  2. Wire and troubleshoot basic motor starters
  3. Describe classifications of hazardous locations and required protections
  4. Interpret solar system designs and installation requirements
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of energy storage safety and integration
